Busy Sunday

This morning, we went to the Hort Park to attend a cousin's solemnisation. I seriously think that the reason why they named this park as Hort Park is because it's really very HOT here! You can hardly find any shelter in the park -_-"

We were happily taking pics of ourselves while waiting for the couple to get ready and march in :P Looked like our solemnisation rite? LOL!!!

Second part of the day, we went to Mandarin Hotel in Orchard to attend the same couple's wedding banquet.

Idiotic me burnt my face while curling my hair with the super hot hair tong. Actually, this was not the first time already. Previously, I burnt my ear. Today, I burnt my face. I wonder if I dare to tong my hair again or rather pay $40 to do it at the hair salon in future. zzZZ... I wonder how long it will takes to heal. Sheesshhh....

Japan Honeymoon - Day 9 to Day 11 (15-17 Jan 2011)

Hokkaido

Welcome to Ainu Museum ~

Oh! Big, black, bear!!!

The real one is here ~

I think this is husky. His fur sooo white. Damn nice ~

The Ainu villagers preserved the fishes in summer and eat them during winter cos it's too cold to go out fishing.

Moving on to watch the tribal dance & musical performance by the Ainu villagers.

What's cooking today? Oh! I saw big crabbie signage. Are we going to have crab for lunch today??? *excited*

*sigh* This is what we are having today for lunchie. Steamboat with salmon slices and veges ~ But I wanna eat crabbie ~

Oh! Our tour guide said that we can choose extra "addons" for our steamboat. Of course, we have to pay for the "addons" lah. There were many types of fresh, live seafood to choose from.

Though I learned to eat raw seafood now but I'll pass on this section for today. FYI, the reddish tuna that looked like a piece of red meat is very expensive ~

Alaska crabssssssssss!!!!!! My favourite crabbies ~~

Ok, I picked this "smallest" crabbie for our lunch! It's around S$300 -_-" Expensive stuff but I know if we don't eat it, we will regret when we come back Singapore....

I ate the legs raw with wasabi. Delicious! Very fresh and sweet indeed ~ We threw all the crab body parts (sounds like corpse) into the steamboat which made the soup very sweet & tasty too :)

Luckily, we only ordered the crab cos the steamboat has lotsa salmon slices. We can hardly finish everything. I saw another couple ordered the Alaska crab, sea urchin and tuna slices. Gosh! I think they spent at least S$500 on that.

大男人 don't know how to eat crab. Looked like he's carrying out an operation on the leg. Hahaha....

I'm a professional crab & prawn eater. One look can tell right? LOL!!!

Beautiful ocean view outside the restaurant.

Today, we checked-in at ANA Hotel near Chitose Airport. This hotel has no hot spring :( I'm starting to miss the daily hot spring routine already. *sob sob*

Dinner is not inclusive tonite. So, we went to the next door shopping mall for dinner. I had this Korean rice. Quite tasty. After that, we went to shop around for a while before heading back to hotel room.

Next morning, we went to Rera Premium Outlet. It's every women's shopping paradise cos they have many big brands at factory outlet prices. Unfortunately, nothing catches my eyes and I refused to shop on impulsiveness. We went to have some coffee and ice cream while waiting for the group to gather.

After we gathered, we all headed directly to Chitose Airport and bid goodbye to everybody. All of them flew directly back to Singapore while 大男人 and me flew back to Haneda Airport.

It's already evening when we arrived back in Tokyo and check-in to Shinjuku Washington Hotel again. We quickly find a place for dinner. Actually, we came here for dinner on the 1st night and we are back again. Their ramen is really nice and service was good too! Their staff can speak English & Mandarin :P

After dinner, we took a walk to Kabuchiko (Tokyo red-light district). Hmmm... not sure if we were at the right place cos we didn't see many night clubs. In fact, we saw many arcades and erm... gigolos? So many of them in suit and eye liner. Eeww... so gothic. Not my cuppa tea. I held on to 大男人's arm tightly as we walked pass them :S

Feeling disappointed, we walked back to our hotel. Need to pack our luggage cos we gotta catch an early flight tomorrow.

We didn't do a lot of shopping during this trip. Spent most of our $$$ on foodie which we both felt it's worth it :) 大男人 bought this Agnes B bag for me. *beaming* Soooo cheapppp compared to the price in Singapore.

I bought this Samantha Thavasa bag for myself.

I miss Hokkaido so much now. Especially the snowy Furano ~

Japan Honeymoon - Day 8 (14 Jan 2011)

Hokkaido

Ohayo gozaimasu!! This is place for breakfast & dinner today. Very good buffet spread :P

Today's itinerary is free & easy! Let's go out and play!

Woah ~ Super cold ~ Don't know how many degree C. Only know it's quite difficult to walk cos the snow very thick & high.

There were a few sourvenir shops & pubs in the woods, near our hotel but not open yet. I'm trying to play a fool outside the souvenir shop :D

Let's join the others for some snow games! Everything is free! (Included in our tour package).

[ Banana boat ride ]

[ Snow rafting ]

[ Jet ski]

Ok, enough of the kiddie games. Time for some serious game. Gearing ourselves up at this ski equipments rental shop within the hotel.

We are ready!

To be honest, both of us have no experience in skiing and the price to engage a professional trainer for half day beginner course is kinda expensive. So, we decided to fall and learn. Just like learning skating/blading in Singapore. LOL!

This attire is damn amazing. We only wore 1 layer of long john inside this skiing jacket & pants but yet we don't feel cold at all. Ironically, when we wore 3 layers (long john, sweater, winter coat & muffler) out earlier, we still feel very cold!

It's damn hard to stand, walk & push myself on the snow lor. After 2hrs, I felt like dying already. Can you imagine I'm sweating like hell inside?? LOL!

So, how's our progress? Obviously, 大男人 did a lot better than me :(

After the short break, 大男人 say we must venture out to ski on beginner slope. Okie lor ~ When I got to know where is beginner slope, I wanna faint. Need to take this ride up??! You call that beginner??!! OMG ~

This ride feels more exciting than any roller coaster cos I don't feel protected at all! I'm so afraid that I might fall off :S Worst part is when I realised the ride doesn't stop at all. We have to get ready to ski downward the moment we reached the top. OMG! *screams* Yeah... as expected, I jumped and fell. Hahaha... It took me quite a while to reach the bottom of the so-called "beginner's slope" cos I kept falling -_-"

The hotel extend vouchers to their guests if they decided not to change the towels in room and help to save water. We used the vouchers to exchange for these goodies ^^ I super love the afternoon royal milk tea in Japan :P
